Dust Control Policy
Dust Control for Holmes City Township
Holmes City Township uses the application of chloride yearly to help maintain and save gravel roads as well as control the dust. The Board of Supervisors has determined some areas of township roads with high traffic and certain intersections to need yearly dust control and is therefore applied free of charge.
Should property owners desire to have dust control materials placed at locations other than what the Board of Supervisors has deemed necessary, the resident (or residents) adjacent to that road will need to contact the Township Clerk through the contact form below, or through written request for dust control with chloride to: Holmes City Township, 11180 Tewes Trail SW, Farwell, MN, 56327.
Once a request for Dust control has been received and approved the resident will be contacted informing them of the likely date of application-knowing that this is highly variable, and that Township officials have no control over this timing. Application dates have historically been as early as late May or as late as mid-July. The resident is expected to have flags placed on the side of the road located at the ends of the area they wish to be treated. The price has been set $0.80 per linear foot of application (2025).
The footage is determined by the driver and Township employee, if present.
